Meet Jenn

Have you ever had a dream so big it scares you? It can take you to a place you never imagined. It’s one of the questions I ask myself every day.

I’m Jenn Ederer, creative director & founder, and bringing your vision to life with love is what I do best.

They say that it takes one part crazy, one part passion, a dash of luck, and a whole lot of faith to take the leap to start a business. Well, here I stand nearly 20 years later still LOVING this crazy life as a multi-passionate creative entrepreneur. The truth is I get to do what I love every.single.day! It’s truly a gift serving our beloved clients during one of the most celebrated times in their lives alongside some of the most remarkable humans. It takes a very special individual to dedicate their career by serving others in this capacity. Countless hours are selflessly given on weekends away from family to help our couples create lifelong memories, and our team does it with so much heart! I couldn’t be more PROUD of the experience we’ve crafted, and the beautiful clients we have the honor of serving along the way.

We don’t just focus on floral because we want to take care of all your needs, including emotional ones, during this life-changing time. It’s about creating an all-encompassing experience, meeting you where you are in your life, and allowing you to be in the moment.

That’s why I have a team. We’re all working with the same vision. We serve clients who want to be cared for—it’s the way I would want to be treated. Flowers pulled me in and started it all—such a beautiful testament of God’s love for us. But we are so much more than that now.

From the moment we meet, our team pours all they have into your event. We know the magic is in the moments and in the details, and we believe you should be free to take it all in and savor it.

What inspires me? You do. Your love stories, your family, your friends. My team inspires me, with their overflowing grace, passion, and love for our clients.

The path to my life’s work began as a little girl. My warmest memories are of enjoying meals at beautifully set table, adorned with fresh-cut flowers, authentic German food, and classical music playing lightly in the background. During the holidays, I’d watch my mother, as she ironed fresh linen, set the table with delicate china, and layered on the perfect flavors in the kitchen.

She spent hours creating an unforgettable experience for her beloved family. We felt special, appreciated, and loved. And isn’t that the point?

Although my roots are in floral design, I know there’s so much more to your event than fresh blooms. It’s all of the little details and moments that give the greatest gift possible to you and your guests—feeling special, appreciated, and loved.

Meet the Team

 

Amanda Elmergreen

Amanda started as a young college intern over 12 years ago, and quickly matured into the company’s operational manager. She is the “peanut butter” to Jenn’s “jelly,” and works directly alongside Jenn to serve our clients with the level of efficiency and attention they all deserve. Her heart belongs to her sweet husband and two babies, but her reliable hands and calming presence are ready to serve you.


Dee Teasdale-Mitchell

We have been blessed with Dee’s presence on our team for around 4 years, and she came to us with invaluable experience as a previous business leader in the local wedding industry for well over a decade. Dee leads the design team to ensure every bloom is perfection. Her heart may belong to her beautiful family, but her experienced hands and can-do attitude are here to serve you!


Ali Hanrahan

Ali came to us about 10 years ago as a college intern, and after graduating, returned to Modern Day to claim the role of event manager, with a bit of billing and human resources on the side. You will never meet a more professional and level-headed team player - she completes the trifecta alongside Jenn and Amanda. Ali’s heart belongs to her wonderful husband, but her perfectionist hands and attention to detail are ready to serve you.


Meghan Whitney

Meghan joined team Modern Day nearly 4 years ago, and has been a fabulous chameleon ever since. Meghan began her journey with us on the logistics side of the team, and is now one of our best floral designers on staff! Her dedication to ensuring things are done correctly, and reliability is such an incredible uplifter to us all. Meghan’s heart belongs to her family and loyal boyfriend, but her steady hands and gentle spirit are ready to serve you.


Molly Dykstra

Molly has been with Modern Day for about 6 years as our production manager, and has already evolved into a vital player on our team. She came to us with experience in the customer service and food industries, with business savvy too. Molly is a logistical master and quick to jump-in to strategize the flow of each day. Molly’s heart belongs to her dear family and husband, but her eager-to-please hands and go-getter attitude are ready to serve you.


Katie Tubergen

Katie began her career with us 2 years ago as an intern, and has since taken on a permanent role as an immensely talented floral artist. Her zest for life and fresh approach to design is a beauty to behold! Those spectacular bridal bouquets you’ve seen from us lately? Katie’s the hands AND the heart behind every perfectly-placed bloom, and she’s ready to serve you!


 

Maddie Martin

Maddie joined our team as an intern just under 2 years ago, and has quickly become an essential member of our team! She is truly a “jack (jane?) of all trades”, and is great at nearly everything she puts her mind to. Maddie embodies what it means to serve with “hands and heart” at Modern Day!

Dani Korte

Dani may be the newest member of our crew, but we love her to pieces and so do our Clients! Dani serves as our liaison specifically for our beloved Greencrest couples, and ensures the Modern Day experience transfers seamlessly into our role as a venue. Dani shares her heart with her newlywed husband, but her gentle spirit and kind hands are ready to serve you!

Faith Hartman

When we acquired Greencrest Manor in 2019, we knew we would need someone solely dedicated to raising our flourishing garden beds for our incredible couples! If you’ve ever carried a Modern Day bouquet, this beautiful soul has tended every bloom until perfection. Faith’s hands may be covered in soil with arms full of flowers, but her sweet demeanor and hard-working mindset is ready to serve you.
