Season of Change
Hello friends, family, and loyal followers!
Happy first day of Spring 2019. We could NOT be more ready for a little bit warmer skies, greener grass, and of course, blooms bursting full of life. In keeping with this season of change, the Modern Day team is overjoyed to finally share with you not only our new website, but also, our full business rebrand. Whether you know us from the original Modern Day Events and Floral, Modern Day Creative, or Gwyneth Paige, we welcome you to celebrate with us the launch of Modern Day Collective. All of the arms of our business are still there—with Gwyneth Paige Couture Letterpress now morphing into Modern Day Press House.
We have operated for a very long time with the understanding that our business is much more than your typical florist, wedding planner, event designer, stationery printing, consulting, etc... However, we fully understand how sometimes that may be confusing for our beloved clients—old and new. Our hope is that this new umbrella entity, Modern Day Collective, will unite all of the various elements of our business under “one roof,” and therefore better educate people as to the services we are able to provide.
Laura from Dotted Design, and Myrna Daramy, tech guru, have lovingly guided us to help create every beautiful detail of this new website. We could not be more grateful to them for their thoughtful direction, relentless encouragement, and undivided attention. For a very long time, we had not felt heard or understood when we shared our vision, which resulted in lots of delays, second-thoughts, and yes, even frustrated tears. Finally, we found a team that not only made it all happen, but pushed for things we didn’t even think we were ready for yet. Myrna and Laura, you will forever be considered a part of our Modern Day family!
This new website and brand relaunch has been over 4 years in the making—with a few upgrades in between and dozens of talented people involved, to finally get us to where we want to be. Right here! When the thought of this change was just a seed, we called up our talented and loving friend, Kelly of Kelly Braman Photography. We designed an epic photoshoot that we felt would best represent our brand, and the exceptional work we love to provide to our clients.
This particular photoshoot displayed in this post is inspired by the romance of Paris in full, vibrant bloom in Spring. Is there anything more beautiful, feminine, or fresh? If only some brilliant mind would just invent scratch-n-sniff for our tech screens already!
The shoot was actually two days. At the end of day one, Jenn had a delirious, crazy brilliant idea to create a massive, faux cherry blossom tree for the next day’s spring shoot. The team scurried back to our production warehouse to begin pulling and prepping the items we would need to make it all happen. Thank goodness we did! What resulted, was magic…
Romantic, dainty cherry blossoms draped over a lush table full of fragrant garden roses, fringed tulips, ruffled anemones, and whimsical greenery touches. Small accents of gold metallic with soft blush taper and pillar candles, and a rich velvet linen completed the look. What we wouldn’t give to have a client want this exact look for their own wedding day! Thank you to our vendor friends from Nuage Linens and Gigi and La Clede for providing the perfect rentals for this look. Of course, we can’t forget those impeccable menu cards by our own MD Press House!
Our exquisite models, Leia and Hope, effortlessly transformed into blushing brides that were simply dreamy in their delicate gowns from Bianka Bridal, makeup by the unparalleled Erick Gerson, and hair by our own fabulous Laurel.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for investing your time into our website, this post, and our company as a whole. We are deeply looking forward to where this journey takes us, and we know new and thrilling things are on the horizon for us. We welcome you to come along for the ride. Cheers to you and a season of change!
Hearts and Hands,
