Alexandra & Steven: A Classic Romance Affair
Ali and Steve are one of the most charming, sophisticated, and warm couples you will ever meet. And it is because of these attributes that they wanted their guests to have an incredible experience on their wedding day.
Classic sterling silver paired with fluffy white blooms, hand-drawn monograms on letterpress menu cards, flickering taper candles, and a historic backdrop of marble and French paintings made for the most idyllic combination.
Our beautiful bride had access to her grandmother's stunning heirloom satin gown with a dramatic train, and permission to make it her own. After months of planning and meeting with a talented seamstress, the dress was transformed to honor her grandmother's memory, while also fitting modern times. The result was a true masterpiece — that custom 22ft long veil was royal-wedding worthy! She looked picture-perfect next to her beloved Steve in his sharp navy tuxedo.
The bride's own artistic mother worked directly with our graphic design team to hand-draw the most elaborate and detailed monogram crest we've ever laid eyes on. We incorporated this element in absolutely everything we could — from the letterpress invitation suites, to the fondant cake decor, to the menu cards on each place-setting. Even the head table got embroidered monogrammed hemstitch napkins!
Hand-drawn custom monograms are a beautiful way to "brand" your wedding day, but they can also be used in a multitude of ways post-wedding too — think return address stamps, stationery pieces, embroidered pillows, or stylish pajamas.
While we didn't use them in the wedding design specifically, we drew major inspiration from the bride's registered china at Caskata. All of their work is spectacular, but this specific cobalt blue and white pattern is simply to die for! We like to imagine that every time Ali and Steve serve a meal to their guests on these plates, a little piece of their wedding magic is carried through.
