Stephanie & Anthony: Bridal Bliss on the Bay
Stephanie and Anthony are the kind of couple that make you feel like family from the moment you meet them. They deserved the most special of wedding days, so when the weather forecast was less than desirable for their weekend, we immediately started making adjustments to the event flow and design.
The skies were swirling and angry grey, but the moment Stephanie took her first steps down the aisle, the clouds parted and rays of warm sunshine illuminated their wedding ceremony. The rest of the day was just as magical, as they danced into the sunset over Lake Michigan as new husband and wife.
The custom invitation suite we designed was intentionally created to reflect a refined, natural touch with the wood accents, subtle nautical nods with the rope monogram, and a hint of feminine playfulness with the rose gold foil. The suite ended up being a timeless design that was the perfect sneak-peek into their upcoming big day for their excited guests.
Team Modern Day absolutely ADORES our fur-babies... so when the Bride and Groom wanted to incorporate their fluffy Ella into the special day, how could we not enthusiastically agree? From custom wine bottle labels, to the most adorable floral-collar... Ella was definitely one of the stars of the day.
One of our favorite experiences with Stephanie, Anthony, and their families was the combined site visit, dinner tasting, and sweets tasting with Simply Sweet by Jessica. Our hilariously adorable Father of the Bride had a MAJOR sweet-tooth... throughout the appointment, as we were discussing the logistics and options with Jessica, Dad was unabashedly sneaking behind the counter to try the next best flavor of Jelly Belly's — a man after our own sweets-loving hearts!
When you're getting married in Northern Michigan, on the bay of Lake Michigan, what better get-away vehicle than your very own Chris-Craft boat?! Their brand-new little boat was even freshly-branded with "Just Married" on the back. We added a touch of garland, popped the champagne, and watched them sail off into the bay for a quiet moment between the two of them, before the party really got started.
After a scrumptious meal on the bay and romantic dances beneath a greenery-lined tent, Stephanie changed from her impeccable Monique Lhuillier gown, into a short and sassy Alessandra Rinaudo dress to dance the rest of the night away. Honestly, we couldn't decide which look we liked better!
